Nandita's second husband is Saumya Sen, a Kolkata-based advertising professional. They married in 2002. Differences of opinion between artistes are very common. Daily spats will make life hell, so the couple decided to part amicably.
Nandita Das applied for a divorce from her second husband in the Kolkata High Court. Both appeared in person and submitted their statements. The judge has given them 6 months to reconsider their decision.
According to TimeofIndia report, Their petition cited irreconcilable differences between the two and wanted a divorce under Section 13B (divorce by mutual consent) under the Hindu Marriage Act. The court asked the couple to reappear with “The Second Motion Petition for Mutual Consent Divorce” after six months, giving them time to rethink their decision, a chance to the couple to withdraw his/her petition within the six month term.
