Anushka, is very, very happy after her Suriya starrer Singam turned out to be a hit. The actress whose two earlier outings in Tamil, Rendu and Vettaikaran were lukewarm, wanted a desperately a hit in Tamil, to become the number one actress in South.
Anushka created a flutter when she went on a “Thanksgiving” mission to Indrakeeladri hillock, abode of Goddess Sri Kanaka Durga, on the banks of River Krishna near Vijayawada on Tuesday (June 1) afternoon.
Over 5000 fans of the actress, who has a huge fan following in Andhra after that blockbuster Arundathi thronged the hillock, at the entry and exit points of the temple to have a glance at the ravishing actress.
Anushka arrived at the venue two hours behind the schedule, despite which the huge crowd stayed under the scorching sun (42 degrees in Vijayawada area on June 1). The police had a tough time in controlling the crowds.
Later, the temple authorities who were awed by Anushka’s visit presented the temple Prasadams and portrait of the Goddess to the heroine.
